Arrive Entebbe and transfer to Kampala. Depending on time of arrival visit take the award winning ‘Last king of Scotland Tour based on Idi Amin or ‘Disney’s Queen of Katwe’ movie tour based on Chess prodigy Fiona Mutesi or visit the cultural sites in the city.
Day 2 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After early breakfast Checkout Pick up is at 7:00 AM. Travel via Mpambire Drum Market and then Equator line. Stop over at Agip Motel or Igongo Cultural Museum Mbarara for lunch before continuing through the rolling hills of western Uganda via Rukingiri, arriving Bwindi late afternoon.
Day 3 : Gorilla tracking
Have an early morning wakeup call at 6:30AM and breakfast before briefing by ranger/guide at 8:00am before you begin our trek. The park boasts no fewer than 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the spectacular, and globally threatened, African Broadbill and Shelly’s Crimsonwing. Bwindi is richest in terms of birds, butterflies and trees. Depart for Queen Elizabeth National park through the southern sector with a chance to see tree climbing lions, angulates, buffalo, elephant and birdlife. About 800 mountain gorillas survive today, all of them in the wild half of which are in Uganda.
Day 4 : Game drive
Have early morning breakfast before starting your game drive at 6:30am. Catch the African sunrise on The Peninsular, and an animal galore including: Lions back from their overnight hunt, Elephants, Buffalos, Hyenas, the Rare Giant Forest hog, Warthogs, the Kob mating grounds, teeming birdlife and crater lakes. After lunch head for an afternoon launch trip. Up close to a variety of hippo, fish eagle, goliath heron, African Jacana, Egyptian geese, and the rare shoebill and mountain ranges in the horizon.
Day 5 : Cultural tour or Kyambura gorge walk
After breakfast, head for Kyambura Gorge in search of chimps. The gorge is also home to red-tailed monkey, black & white colobus, giant forest hog birdlife.
Other options: Visit to Hamukungu fishing village, basket weavers or Katwe Salt mines that have sustained livelihoods dating back to the 16th Century. Visit Ramsar migratory bird site on Lake George host to flamingos and other migrants from October to May. Return to Kampala or Entebbe.
Day 6 : Departure
After breakfast, check out & take a transfer to airport for your flight back home.
