Upon arrival at Vientiane Air-port you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Vientiane
Today after breakfast your city tour begins with the oldest wat in Vientiane, Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which now serves as a museum of arts and antiques. Then travel to Lanexang Avenue. You will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxai Monument, which resembles its Parisian inspiration, the Arc de Triomphe. The climb to the top offers great views over Vientiane. Then continue onwards down Rue Sigha 23 to Laos’ Nation Icon, and most important religious building, the golden stupa of That Luang. The final visit of the day will be the excellent COPE exhibition center, highlighting a much-overlooked aspect of Laos and a major problem many of the local people face on a day-today basis in the form of unexploded ordnance as a results of heavy bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War area. After breakfast checkout from the hotel and travel to Vang Vieng. It Takes around 3.5 hours to drive to the North – Vang Vieng. On the way, stop to visit the Hmong Village of KM 52 and the archaeological site of Vang Xang, where you can admire one of the country’s oldest Buddha statues, dating back to the 11th century. Visit the fishing village of Ban Houy Mo. Later, continue your journey to Vang Vieng. On arrival in Vang Vieng, soak up the scenery on a boat cruise along the Nam Xong River, then check in to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight in Vang Vieng.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave Vang Vieng town and transfer to Luang Prabang. On arrival check into your hotel. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Early in the morning you can opt for an early morning start to respectfully witness and partake in the daily morning ritual of “Tak Bat” or giving alms to the monks. This is a unique ritual still followed by the locals in Luang Prabang. You can also visit the local fresh market to see how the locals shop, before returning to your hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, you visit the Royal Palace Museum, which gives a good overview of local history. You will also visit the country’s most historic and enchanting temple Wat Xieng Thong, with its roof sweeping low to the ground, representing the classical Luang Prabang style. Arrive back in Luang Prabang and visit Wat Visoun, known as “The Watermelon Stupa” due to its rounded dome. Later, you have the option to climb Mount Phousi, which offers a spectacular view over Luang Prabang and the Mekong River. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Today you will witness the beauty and hidden wonders of Laos during Pak Ou and Kuang Si Waterfall day tour. Make your way along the Mekong River to the Buddha-filled caves of Pak Ou. You will visit a rural village where locals make rice wine and see how indigenous people live. Next, head to the stunning waterfalls of Kuang Si which is one of the most picturesque destinations in Laos. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
After breakfast checkout from the hotel and transfer to the Air-port for your return flight.
