Itinerary

Welcome to Costa Rica: Upon arrival at the airport you will be welcomed by your English-speaking guide and
transferred to your hotel in San José. Welcome cocktail and check-in. This afternoon, time to walk around the
heart of the capital and sight-seeing some of the most iconic buildings like the façade of the National Theater,
considered Costa Rica’s cultural pearl, the Plaza de la Cultura known for being a busy center of gatherings, the
National Park, the Central Avenue and if schedule allows it, the Mercado Central, the Central Market, where
you will find all kind of shops, eateries, fruit stands and small local “sodas” (typical and simple places to eat).
Your tourguide will walk you around this place and explain some of the local traditions, and he will invite you
to try some local products like a typical coffee, or a homemade ice cream known as helados de sorbetera!

Day 2 :
San Jose

Morning departure to the Alajuela province to the Doka Estate coffee plantation, one of the largest plantations in the country, located on the slopes of the Poas Volcano (access to the Volcano closed since April 2017). During this visit, you will discover the different stages of the elaboration of coffee, from the plant to the
cup. You will first visit the plantation, where your guide will explain the cultivation and maintenance of coffee plants, as well as the harvesting process. You will then head to the small factory of the plantation, the place where magic works! The coffee beans just picked from the plant will be processed until the final product is
obtained. You will end the visit with a tasting of different coffees, then have a delicious lunch in the plantation's restaurant surrounded by coffee. After lunch, departure to the next activity. La Paz Waterfall Gardens is an exuberant 28 hectare garden located at 1600 meters above sea level, close to the Poas volcano, which offers more than 3.5km of trails, 5 beautiful waterfalls, a butterfly greenhouse, a hummingbird garden, a snake exhibition, the “Casita Tipica” (typical Costa Rican house), a trout lake and areas for bird watching. Make sure you bring camera, walking shoes, pants and jacket or light raincoat.

This morning, transfer to Tamarindo. Departure to the Pacific Coast. You will take to the Pan-American road to Playa Langosta. Lunch on the way. On the way to the coast, stop at Las Pumas Wildlife Refuge: This site was created about 40 years ago by the Swiss Lilly Bodmer de Hagnauer, who, with deforestation and the desire of the inhabitants to capture wild animals to make them into domestic animals, realized that some species were becoming rare. Day 4 :
Tamarindo

This afternoon, departure to an open catamaran tour in Playa Tamarindo, where you will silently glide along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white sand beaches, and tropical
jungles. Gaze off the bow with a cold tropical drink, as you scan the seas for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, or even a breaching whale (depending on season).Stop in a tranquil bay, drop anchor, and frolic in the blue Pacific. Snorkel in the bay or run down the deserted white sand beach while the ever-helpful crew prepares a

This morning, early morning departure to La Fortuna city, a small town located right at the foot of the incredible Arenal Volcano. Lunch at your leisure on the way. Then, off for an adventure at the Hanging Bridges Park. Within the park you will cross different trails and a series of suspension bridges where you will see some of the flora and fauna of the forest canopy. This experience will show you a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a hike on the ground and then taking you to explore the treetops, a
hardly discovered habitat called the “canopy” with a naturalist guide. This afternoon enjoy a relaxing evening in the hot springs. Amidst the tropical rainforest, you will enjoy of 25 thermal water pools are filled by crystalline waterfalls, for the use and enjoyment of all visitors. The purity of the water will make you feel like
you are floating in an oasis of healing, with birds singing all around and the sound of falling water that invites you to relax and recover your wellness and quality of life. Day 6 :
Arenal

This morning off for an adventure at the La Fortuna Waterfall. The hike consists of about 530 steps down to reach the imposing Rio Fortuna Waterfall, where the peace and majesty of nature will make you enjoy its crystal-clear waters and the scenic beauty of the place. Lunch at your leisure on the way. Then, off for a hike in Arenal Volcano National Park. Hike on the trails of the park, where you will see a lot a vegetal species such as the silk-cotton tree, a holy tree for the native populations that believed the tree was a gate to heaven. You will
also walk on a solidified lava flow from where you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view both the Arenal

This morning, off for an adventure in a Zip line canopy tour. Your tour will start riding an open-air gondola (sky tramway) from the ground to the heights where you’ll be dropped off at an observation area for fantastic views. From this area, you will start riding down on a zip line track stretching across canyons and in between treetops, the exhilarating adventure of zip lining down the mountainside begins; ultimately returning you to the starting point at the main building of the park.
